Modern Day Slavery: A Topic Ignored by Many

Does Slavery still exist today? Why yes, yes it does. Where you might ask? In places such as The Dominican Republic, India, Brazil, Asia, The Middle East, Africa, South and Latin America and many other places. We still have forms of Slavery here in the United States as well. Slavery has been abolished in many places, yet some still practice it openly. Many people turn a blind eye to this fact. The number of people bonded in some form of slavery today number between 12 to 22 million according to Wikipedia.

Here is a little History about the Slave Trade and where it started:

What types of Slavery exist today?
According to there are types. Bonded Labour, Early and Forced Marriage, Slavery by decent, Trafficking, and Child Labour.

BBC News reported in 2002 that “The number of people forced into slavery around the world has risen to 27 million, according to a report published by an international human rights group”.

The International Labour Office reports as of 2012 that 20.9 million people are victims of forced labour globally.

On 6/28/2011 Catholic Online put out an article 21st Century Slavery listing the 23 nations that would be sanctioned for Human Trafficking.

At the time, when she presented the report, Sec. Hillary Clinton was quoted stating:

All countries can and must do more. More human beings are being exploited today than ever before. We’re at critical moment in this fight,” she said. “The problem of modern trafficking may be entrenched, and it may seem like there is no end in sight. But if we act on the laws that have been passed and the commitments that have been made, it is solvable. If we increase the pressure on traffickers and the networks they thrive in, we can set ourselves on a course to one day eradicate modern slavery.

The Sudan also continues to practice Slavery to this day. Christian Solidarity International is an organization that has followed the Sudan closely in this matter. Since 1995. They say Slavery was revived in the Sudan in 1983 and that there are over 35,000 people still in bondage there.

Mauritania’s is known as “Slavery’s Last Stronghold” by many. John. D. Sutter wrote an article that was put out on CNN Interactive in which he says Mauritania’s population is 3.4 million and that 10 to 20 percent of that population are Slaves bringing the Enslaved population numbers to 340,000 to 680,000 just in that area. There are pictures and even a story from a woman (Moulkheir Mint Yarba) who was born a slave and her children were born into slavery on this site as well as more great information.

USA Today  reported on February 15, 2013 that armed Tuaregs took control of the north from the Mali government and marched south with Islamists aligned with al-Qaeda. “The Tuareg tribes that overran Mali’s military with the help of Arab extremist groups aligned with al-Qaeda have long-held slaves and many of the captives are from families that have been enslaved for generations”.The Tauregs took advantage of their newly won control to reclaim freed or runaway slaves, mostly Black Africans. Mali outlawed in 1960 but Mali is one of the countries in the world where the practice of human servitude flourishes, with as many as 200,000 living in enslavement.

So where is all of the outrage over Slavery from the Left? They love to bring up Slavery all of the time… In fact they dwell on it! Where is the Pro-Black Movement, The Afrocentrism groups, The Black Liberation Movement, The New Black Panther Party, The Black Power Movement, The Nation of Yahweh, Tribu Ka, The United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors, and The Nation of Islam (Oops, I forgot… most of those groups are Black and Muslim, so I guess they have to sit this one out, Lol!).

Where is the outrage from people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Reverend Jeremiah Wright??? Where is the outrage from the Black Liberals??? Aren’t most of these Modern Day Slaves in Africa and the Middle East BLACK??? Oh, I get it, they’re not American Blacks so they don’t have to care about them or any other Modern Day Slave, right………. I guess, in the end it’s all about who can “Hem and Holler” the loudest, trying to make people feel guilty about something they never lived through, throwing out the Race Card whenever they aren’t getting their way, getting everything for free and making that money for them….
